Freedom of religion MY ASS!!!!!

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof..." What that means to me is that everyone has the right to practice their CHOSEN religion, even if that mean no religion at all. What that also means to me is that government is not to respect any ONE religion over the other, religion has no place in ANY governmental decisions. I hear a lot of talk about Kentucky clerk Kim Davis and her religious rights, lets get one thing clear. When you take a government job YOU NEED TO LEAVE YOUR RELIGION AT THE DOOR before you go to work. If you don't then you let you religion cloud your workplace decisions and the ability to do your job. Which is EXACTLY what is happening in Kentucky!!!! This country was founded on religious liberty and people escaping religious persecution. Kim Davis is NOT being persecuted for her beliefs!!! She is using her beliefs to persecute other people!!!!! By telling people she cannot grant them a marriage license because of HER beliefs, she is persecuting them!!!!! She is forcing HER beliefs on them, and denying them a constitutional right!!! People like Kim Davis are flat out WRONG!!!! Christians like these people are why I stopped going to church in the first place! But then again I'm sure Kim believes that letting two men marry violates the sanctity or her FOURTH marriage!!!! Sorry I haven't posted in a while, just haven't been feeling it lately. So, I just felt like posting a random thoughts blog...here goes.... If Scott Walker is the best the GOP has to offer right now, then the future looks very bright for Democrats! He most likely wouldn't even carry his own state!!!! Love how President Obama is handling most things....setting the agenda and forcing the GOP to oppose programs that favor everyday people, yeah I think that majority in the Senate will be short lived!!! Loretta Lynch, highly qualified.....but I'm not a fan!!! Why does John McCain ALWAYS want to go to war at the drop of a hat? And don't even get me started about his puppy Lindsey Graham!!!! Vaccination is an issue now? Really??? Thanks a lot to Faux News and idiots like Michele Bachmann and Jenny McCarthy!!! Sarah Palin and Donald Trump are MORONS!!!!! Just in case you forgot! Brian Williams lying about being shot down is incredibly stupid, it minimizes what people who have actually gone through being shot down. Religion and lack thereof....

Hey there, took some time off, but am back now for more!!! I have been over the past few days trying to process the attacks on the office of "Charlie Hedbo," Bill Maher, and religion in general. Let me say that I despise religious extremism on ALL fronts, suicide bombings, plane hijackings, abortion clinic vandalism and harassment, the list goes on.... I HATE it all!!!! Christopher Hitchens said in his book GOD IS NOT GREAT, that religion poisons everything....it was even in the title! Bill Maher has recently said ALL religion is "stupid and dangerous." While I don't go FULL Maher on this, I do agree with the sentiment about religion. GOP lawmakers, and some Dems, oppose certain things because of their religious beliefs (abortion, marriage equality, science). Similarly, terrorist activities are being carried out in the name of twisted interpretations of faith. Back when I was young when I heard that somebody was a Christian, I thought they were basically a nice person who didn't swear, and listened to shitty music. and watched dumb TV shows. Now saying that brings up a whole different reaction, it makes me think of someone who is homophobic, judgmental, and just generally not very nice at all!!!! Religion can be an ok thing but these people have clearly, lost their way in that regard. Same with people of the Middle Eastern faiths, basically decent people who don't wish harm on anyone. Like Christians, their faith is most often represented by extremist, ignorant assholes!!! This all has led me to the conclusion to take a break from all religion for the time being. Nobody's faith is more important than any other's, we need to get back to that before I will step back into any house of worship. You NEVER see any acts of terror by atheists!!!!! And my personal message to those MORONS who carried out and support the attacks in France, if your faith is threatened that much by satirists then your faith is pretty worthless!!!! Happy Holidays

Seems like a boring title huh? Not to me, considering a lot of my friends on social media seem to have an absolute fit if somebody uses those words! I can't tell you how many posts I have seen with wording such as "IT'S MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ME...LIKE AND SHARE IF YOU AGREE!" It's like they've all been possessed by the Faux News "War on Christmas" Jedi mind trick or something. It cracks me up that people are so indignant about it as well, like if you don't call it Christmas you are a bad person or something. As we all know every year, without fail, Faux News gins up this phony "War on Christmas." This year we even saw an escalation from pseudo Christians. Christian mega-star Kirk Cameron put out a faith based piece of crap called "Saving Christmas" Got news for ya Kirky, and all you dipshits like him. Christmas is not going anywhere!!!! Do they all seriously believe this crap or are they just trying to score points with their creator??? Kind of isn't fair that we can't see "The Interview" but Kirk Cameron's festering pile of shit is available to the whole world!!!! But I thought about all this, and to me it's VERY insulting to non-Christians. Basically Christians are saying "If you don't celebrate and conform to OUR faith you are a bad person, and we don't really care about non-Christians and their opinions. To me saying "Happy Holidays" is trying to respect people of ALL faiths (or none at all), including Christians!!!! Because after all, not every group celebrates the same holiday this time of year, no matter how much pseudo-Christians wanna ram things down our throat! To quote the FORMERLY funny comedian turned right right-wing gasbag Dennis Miller..."I don't mean to get off on a rant here." But I am sick and tired of a lot of liberals think we have to stay above the fray and not engage in the same tactics those on the right use...lies, mudslinging, etc. I think sometimes liberals don't want to fight fire with fire and as they see it, stoop to the right's level. To HELL with that! Yeah we all know the righties are full of it....but we need to fight them where they are at!!!! I'm tired of wimpy liberals thinking they're better than that. NEWS FLASH...YOU'RE NOT!!!! These people are kicking our teeth in in the court of public opinion for some reason, they lie and they keep repeating it until enough people believe it. I'm not saying us liberals should lie, but we can't be afraid to get our hands dirty and throw the mud right back at them! Liberals as a whole need to not have this elitist, above the fray mentality. Like when Bill Maher criticized the Islamic faith, the liberal community was up in arms about it...WHY????? Bill Maher wasn't singling out that particular faith, Bill Maher bags on ALL religion, but somehow it's seen as being more wrong in that case. Liberals don't seem to mind when he pokes holes in Christianity, as Michael Moore so brilliantly pointed out. If a conservative says to a liberal "Fuck you!!!" we shouldn't cower at that, the correct response is "NO FUCK YOU!!!!! I'm not saying liberals have to stop eating granola, being vegans, smoking pot, etc. Just don't be afraid to punch back twice as hard. Ferguson...my own personal aftermath.

You know, when you have a dying relative who has been sick for a long time? You know they are going to die so you think you are prepared? But them when their death happens you still have a feeling of great loss and helplessness? Thant's kind of how I felt when the Grand (in name only) Jury decided not to indict Officer Darrin Wilson. We all knew this would come, and the rioting that followed should be NO surprise considering how that fire was stoked for days. Yet I still feel that sense of hopelessness, like I did watching the LA Riots in 1992. For one thing, it's obvious that we haven't learned a damn thing since then. It's obvious that a black male is STILL perceived as a threat, and it's also obvious why young black men in particular still view police as a threat rather than a protector. Personally I had to delete a very big number of friends from my Facebook page for posting inaccurate or just plain ignorant statements about the decision. And to those people who used that Grand Jury report as their so called proof, remember that this is the same Grand Jury who were initially handed wrong information about the law and the use of force by police officers. Or that one juror's (juror 10) opinion was valued more than any other mostly because he agreed with Officer Wilson's account. Event though that juror had no real idea how far away he was from the scene, since his account varied. I won't even get into the idiotic comments by former NYC Mayor "Rotten Rudy" or dumbass congressman Peter King (R-NY). In the days after Ferguson a young black man or should I say child considering he was ONLY 12 was shot dead by Cleveland police, while being in possession of a pellet gun. Thankful for what?

Sorry if what I'm about to say may seem a bit cynical. Thanksgiving is this week, a holiday thatis origins are highly suspect...but it does meet my holidays standard in one respect, I don't have to work! That being said, I started to think of what I am thankful for....not too much. I'm not thankful for our system of government right now, which doesn't seem to be in the business of problem solving but rather just stopping our DULY elected President from doing his job in whatever way he tries to do. And to piggyback that, I'm REALLY not thankful that their numbers have increased, the obstructionists I mean. I'm not thankful that a Grand Jury seems on the verge of exonerating a police officer from killing an UN armed young man! I'm not thankful for stores that will be open on Thanksgiving, and telling their employees that if they spend time with their families instead they will be fired.....I'm looking at you K-Mart and Wal-Mart!!! I've never shopped Wal-Mart and will never shop there, and NOBODY really shops at K-Mart anymore!!! I'm not thankful for a system that rewards the uber-rich, while vilifying the have-nots...labeling them takers and such. I'm not thankful for people who claim to be "Christians" that are some of the most horrible people on earth!!! I'm also not thankful for PSEUDO moral outrage over marriage equality, especially when a total scumbag like Charles Manson can get married and a loving, committed gay couple can't!!! I'm not thankful for science deniers, who make us look stupid on the world stage and not to mention harm the planet irreparably!!! I could go on but I'll stop. I am however thankful for our armed forces, past and present. And finally I am thankful for our President Barack H. Obama, who hasn't lost faith in doing his job in spite of overwhelming and indescribable opposition! He may not be perfect, far from it...but I am thankful for him still!!! I have to warn you in advance, this blog is going to be a little shorter and more simplistic than usual. That being said, not a lot has been positive since the mid term elections. But President Obama is moving ahead with his agenda for America as much as he can. By taking executive action as much as he possibly can he is signaling (to me anyway) that he is just tired of all the Republican Teabagging BULLSHIT!!! While his executive actions on immigration are very far from what is needed, he's doing what he was elected to do TWICE!!!!! The thought of the GOP threatening a lawsuit AGAIN is laughable. Basically they are saying "HOW DARE YO DO YOUR JOB!!!! WE'RE GOING TO FIGHT TO THE DEATH TO NOT DO OUR JOBS!!!!' The worst Congress ever isn't going to get better anytime soon. But at least the next 2 years might not be as bad. John Boner is warning the President not to "play with matches." REALLY, the Speaker of the WORST (and least productive) House of Representatives ever is threatening the POTUS for doing his job??? Talk about playing with matches huh???? Do US a favor Boner, don't let your mouth write a check that your orange ass can't cash!!!! As for the Keystone XL pipeline, President Obama CORRECTLY pointed out that this project will have little effect on our oil/gas consumption. The rest of the world benefits from a project that trashes our land and endangers our health for what??? 35 permanent jobs??? No thanks, just open a new big box store and you'll get more that way!!!! WAIT JUST A DAMN MINUTE!!!!!

Wow after Tuesday night's drubbing at the hands of the RepubliCAN'Ts. One thing has come to mind as well as a few others.

Why did Democrats run so fast away from President Obama? The same President Obama that has seen unemployment fall to 5.9% midway through his second term? The same President Obama who helped orchestrate the mission to kill the most notorious terrorist in our history? The same President Obama that has seen millions of more Americans get healthcare coverage? The same President that has achieved a great deal in 6 years, in spite of unprecedented opposition? I could go on....

Democrats were afraid to run on the accomplishments of the Obama presidency. I mean Alison Grimes practically hurt herself running away so fast from President Obama, and all of the rest literally seemed ashamed to be in the same party as President Obama. The only NEW Democratic Senate candidate that won last Tuesday was Gary Peters (D-MI) who successfully held outgoing Carl Levin's in Democratic hands, and for the record, Senator-elect Peters did NOT run away from President Obama....HE CAMPAIGNED WITH HIM!!!!!

So why did all this happen? Forgive me up front, because I know this isn't exactly a new thought. But Democrats have allowed the party of NO and their minions to control the narrative. The GOP has shouted at the top of its lungs why President Obama is the anti-Christ,  and his agenda is somehow some Satanic plot. And the Democrats let them do it!!!!! Not Once did I hear ANY Democrat say, in the face of all the B.S. from the right "WAIT JUST A DAMN MINUTE!! YOU'RE WRONG AND HERE'S WHY YOU'RE WRONG!!!"

If Democrats united around this thought and shouted it back, I don't think we'd have the types of mid term disasters we've had the past 2 mid terms!!! WOULD IT HAVE KILLED THE DEMOCRATS TO MAKE THAT STAND????? What they would have lost more????? TAKE A STAND...DON'T BE AFRAID!!!! We'll ALL be better off in the long run!!!!

WHAT HAPPENS NOW?????

Sorry It's been a while since I posted a blog. But with today's New York Times painting a grim picture for Democrats on Tuesday I felt compelled to revive my stagnant blog. I would like to make a prediction about the election.....or should I say the election aftermath.

On Wednesday November 5th, the day will still begin. Congress will STILL be dysfunctional, and they will  STILL continue to keep President Obama from doing the job the American people elected him to do TWICE! I am sure of this!!!!

I am not sure what will happen Tuesday night, Republicans seem sure that they will take control of the Senate. But even if they do what happens???? IF they have a majority they will not get anything through, because President Obama will veto all their attempts to undermine his authority and good works. The GOP house and Senate will reject  his EVERY attempt at compromise, sound familiar?

I hope against hope that Democrats keep control of the Senate, but even if they don't what changes? The sun still comes up  on Nov. 5th, and Congress will STILL be dysfunctional!

WHAT I BELIEVE!!!!

GUN CONTROL- One of the most hotly debated topics in the news recently. Let me say that I believe that EVERY decent law abiding, mentally stable person should be allowed to own a gun. That being said, I see absolutely no problem with expanding background checks to buy a gun, and I TOTALLY favor eliminating extended magazine ammo clips AND the gun show loophole. You have to have a license to drive a car, you have to practically get naked at the airport these days, you should go through comparable scrutiny to buy and own a gun. And for the record, President Obama CANNOT take anybody's guns away PERIOD!!!!! The US Supreme Court ruled that the Second Amendment guarantees a citizen's right to carry a gun. I also favor STRONGLY getting rid of ANY type of military style assault weapon, they have NO purpose in any decent societal situation..NONE!!! I do not personally own a gun, but I have many friends who do, and I also have many friends and acquaintances who are hunters....I live in Michigan....DUHHHHHHHHHH! In short I support ANYTHING that will make gun ownership in the USA safer for EVERYBODY!!!!!

GAY MARRIAGE- First off let me say this, I am not gay, and I don't have any really close friends who are. I do have several social acquaintances who are, just stating fact. I do, however, support the right of ANY person to marry the person they truly love...be they straight or gay!!!! A while back when Prop 8 in CA was being debated in CA, then MSNBC host Keith Olbermann made the point better than anybody for gay marriage, I can't recite everything Keith said, but do yourself a favor and YouTube it....it's amazing!!! Being a straight, divorced, single male I am always on the lookout for the future Mrs. Jerri Allen. I certainly would not want someone telling me "YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO MARRY THE PERSON YOU LOVE!!!!" Religious and moral arguments be damned!!!! But here's a moral argument FOR....with the straight divorce rate such as it is why would you deny two people the right to get married who have been together for a while and truly love eachother, and have made a committment to one another. Gay people who want to marry have put tremendous amounts of thought into their unions, why would they fight so hard for that right? If my marriage had THAT much thought put into it I probably never would have gotten divorced, because I never would have married that person. Everyone deserves true love, and EVERYONE deserves the right to marry who they love!!!!

ABORTION- Let me say this, I am against abortions happening. I am also against restrictions when it comes to contraceptives!!!!! Abortion should ALWAYS be safe, legal, and rare!!!! I believe ANY attempt at preventing un wanted pregnancy should be available!!!!! End of story, I'm a man....ONLY women should make the decisions for their own bodies...not some pasty old guys in Washington!!!!

PRESIDENT OBAMA- I voted for President Barack Obama...BOTH TIMES!!!! I support the President and I believe he has the best interests of the country in mind. I also believe he is a truly compassionate man who cares deeply for everyone, even people who disagree with him. Do I agree with him all the time...NO! But I agree with him ALOT more than I disagree with him....I support my President!!!!

REPUBLICANS- Believe it or not I do not hate Republicans, hatred is a useless emotion wasted on any other human being. I CAN be friends with people who have opposite viewpoints, I do have Republican friends, I know where they stand...they know where I stand. And at the end of the day they are still friends. That being said, people have ALOT to learn about RESPECTFUL disagreement, I don't view anybody a bad person for having a different viewpoint!!!! An nobody else should either!!!!

The problem with Romney

Oh boy where do I begin here??? Ahh, just let me ramble a bit...

I can't think of what pisses me off most about the Romneys, I think the main thing, however, is their sense of entitlement. Ann Romney basically telling people they should be lucky to have Mitt be the GOP presidential nominee, because of his business experience I guess....certainly not anything he did as Governor of MA. His biggest achievement there is something he constantly bashes President Obama for, making healthcare more affordable and getting more people covered.

But I guess I can't fault Mittwit for feeling like he's entitled to things, like George W Bush and George H.W. Bush Romney was also born with "a silver foot in his mouth", god bless you Ann Richards!!!! He has never had to go hungry, or worry about paying bills, or anything any of us other middle class people have to worry about. He went to Cranbrook school here in Michigan, nothing against Cranbrook at all, but only people with ALOT of money can afford to send their kids there. Eminem chided one of his opponents in a rap battle in the movie "8 Mile" for going to Cranbrook. My point is that Mittwit has had everything handed to him all his life and has always felt entitled to things, and felt he could treat people however he wanted to. Like his former classmate, who he said he doesn't remember assaulting. Although Mittwit is sure the kid was not gay, you know the kid he doesn't remember assaulting...wrap your head around THAT without getting a headache!!!!

Then of course there's the Seamus incident, now this has been talked about and made fun of in the court of public opinion for so long I don't feel like I can add anything to it. But it just doesn't surprise me...

He believes he should be President for the simple fact that he'd be better than Barack Obama, according to him. But when pressed for facts and number to prove how, he basically says that he'll tell us later. He won't even show more than two years of tax returns, why should we expect him to be forthcoming about anything!!! But then again he just seems to think he's better than most of us anyway by his 47% debacle.

Say what you will about Barack Obama, but Mittwit has no integrity, no coourage of convictions, and frankly I even doubt he has a soul. He will say whatever he needs to say to get elected He believes that a good majority of the American public is clueless enough to elect him just because he thinks he's better than the other guy. Some rich guy with a sense of entitlement, that didn't work for Dick DeVos when he ran for Governor of MI, and Mittwit...IT'S NOT GONNA WORK FOR YOU!!!

Life in the Twitterverse...

Just reading some of the responses to my tweets, I must say I am HIGHLY entertained!!!! Somebody asked me if I even knew who Joe Ricketts was, um let's see....TD Waterhouse, family owns the Cubs, wants taxpayers to fund renovations to Wrigley Field, oh and had a plan to dredge up Jeremiah Wright to smear the president.....I THINK I KNOW WHAT I NEED TO!!!

One of my favorites though, is still, the conservative who called me an asshole for slagging on Ted Nugent. Just for the record, I didn't always dislike Ted Nugent. I actually once saw him in concert and enjoyed it. That was before he felt the need to ram his politics down everybodies throats, and spout his paranoid NRA conspiracy theories about how Clinton...Obama or whomever were trying to take your guns away. Like Rachel Maddow said, and forgive me if I get the quote a little wrong, "You can tell President Obama is going to take your guns away by the way he's NOT TAKING YOUR GUNS AWAY!!!!". Anyway, I digress, I have grown up in Michigan and heard  Ted Nugent's B.S. for years. I remember going to see KISS and Ted was the opener, yes Ted cannot even carry a show in Detroit anymore!!! I walked out and went to the concourse for a beer till KISS came on! But one question remains to me, why is little happening to Ted Nugent, yet The DIXIE CHICKS are now pariahs?????

Why I am supporting OBAMA!!!!

Now I did plan on writing this before the SOTU addy, but that just highlights my point!!! I recently saw a "friend" of mine on Facebook post a picture of President Obama supposedly not holding his hand to his heart in front of the flag while others did. Providing absolutely NO CONTEXT for the photo, just saying "is this who we want to be our president?" My answer emphatically...YES!!!!!!! Let me state up front, I don't always like President Obama's decisions, but I realize he is up against a congress that would oppose him on ANYTHING!!!! If he came out against drowning puppies the GOP would be against him!!! I am supporting him for these reasons he is promoting "Green" energy, he believes the rich should pay their fair share in taxes, he is pro-union worker, etc.

Ronald Reagan once asked "are you better off now than you were four years ago?" My answer to that is another emphatic YES!!!!!!! Since President Obama took office I have MORE money in my paycheck, and I get MORE back in the form of a tax refund!!!! No I am by no means a white collar worker, I work 40 hours a week, and work for all I have. But when the average blue collar worker like me gets more money, what does he do with it? HE SPENDS IT!!!!!!!!!!! The more people like me who get more money, the more we are going to spend ANDDDDDDD....the more we will stimulate the economy....DUHHHHH!!! Not to mention I just plain like President Obama as a person, he is a real, feeling human being who wishes he could help every person in need. 22 months of private sector job growth doesn't hurt either.

So in 2012 I have President Barack Obama's back!!!!

Predictions for 2012

Ok, first let me say I believe the Senate will be a toss up in 2012, I could see the Dems keeping the Senate but by only a seat or two. Nebraska looks to red with the retirement of Ben Nelson (GOOD RIDDANCE!!!!), and Massachusetts could return Ted Kennedy's old seat to a real middle class fighter Elizabeth Warren, I could even see former Virginia Guv Tim Kaine winning that state's seat....George Allen????...REALLY??? Nevada promises to be tight and in my homestate of Michigan Debbie Stabenow should easily win re-election, running against former GOP congressman Pete "we found the WMD's" Hoekstra.

The House will go Democratic once again and Nancy Pelosi will be returned to her speakership, so we can once again have a House Speaker that actually is effective. Boehner don't let the door hit your orange ass on the way out!!!!!

And Finally the Presidential race....
I predict President Barack Obama will win re-election, he won't win as big as he did before....BUT HE WILL WIN!!!! None of the GOP candidates look to be that strong, even their supposed front runner Willard M. Romney...Who has all the personality of a 30 watt lightbulb!!!! Merry Christmas everyone!!!

That's right right I said Christmas, don't want any of those stupid right-wingers accusing me of having a (fictional) war on Christmas. Isn't it funny though, they (the right) complain about idiotic things like that...then they complain that Pres. Obama went Christmas shopping....with his dog!!! I heard one righty talking head actually wonder aloud about what kind of store lets you bring your dog? It's called "Pet Smart" jackass!!!! Millions of Americans bring their animals to "Pet Smart" everyday, way to do your homework there skippy!!!! That's as stupid as the people who think the existence of snow disproves climate change, um no but last week in the middle of Deecember it was 55 degrees here in Michigan....I think that PROVES it!!!! Or Pat Robertson talking about anti-Christian bigotry, meanwhile demonstrating blatant anti-Muslim bigotry in his example. And just for the record I DO profess to be a Christian, but I'm an ELCA Lutheran, we drink, swear, and treat gay people as if they were real human beings!!!! The Right wants to have it's cake and eat it too, all the time. Like this past week, they tried to dance around extending the payroll tax cut and still claim they were for tax cuts. As we saw they got called on it for the hypocrites that they are...so you guys are ONLY against increasing taxes on the faux "job creators"???? Boehner always cries about "The American People" don't want a tax increas yet he and his tea bagger caucus were about to give us one!!! Ehhh what does it matter, next year Nancy Pelosi will once again be speaker!!!! My next blog, my special year end blog will be my 2012 predictions. It will happen next week sometime....not sure when but before the end of the year. Handicapping the Repubs for 2012

MITT ROMNEY: Largely viewed as the GOP front runner, the former Massachusetts guv has many flaws. He was pro-choice before he was pro life, not to mention his healthcare plan was a template for President Obama's plan. Now Mitt is trying to run away from it claiming he would repeal "Obamacare" as he calls it. Obama should have no problem if he is the GOP nominee.

TIM PAWLENTY: The former Minnesota guv has alot of the same problems as Mitt...flip flops. Timmy was for cap and trade before he was against it, he was for some gay rights before he was against all gay rights. Not to mention he left the state of Minnesota in a GIANT financial hole, plus he has demonstrated he can't hit the knockout punch in debates. Obama would pound him in the general.

MICHELE BACHMANN: Where do I begin???? The Minnesota congresswoman gives new meaning to the term homophobia. VERY Anti-Gay rights of any kind, probably doesn't think they deserve the right to breathe even. The clinic run by her and her husband practices "reapairative therapy," which claims to "CURE" gay people. Her husband has also referred to gay people as "barbarians." She doesn't understand fiscal policy saying she would not vote to raise the debt ceiling, she doesn' understand the difference between Jon Adams and Jon Quincy Adams, doesn't understand where Lexington and Concord are, the list goes on. Believes that people within the government are "UNamerican," and that the healthcare bill is "the crown jewel of socialism," which illustrates she doesn't understand socialism. She also claims to be against earmarks, but is actually only against them if they don't benefit her. She is clearly playing to an ultra right wing base, it might play well for her in the GOP primary but will kill her in the general. She also claimed black children were better off under slavery. Obama should be so lucky to face her in the general, it would give new meaing to the word landslide.

NEWT GINGRICH: Newt...REALLY???? His staff left within the first week, voters have asked him to drop out. His Tiffany's accounts make him out of touch with the middle class. Not too mention he would not sign a marital fidelity pledge. Newt doesn't have a prayer.

RICK SANTORUM: Speaking of not having a prayer, little ricky also believes that black children were better off under slavery. Emphatically pro-life, and anti-gay rights of any kind. I could go on but why bother??? He was thoroughly beaten by Bob Casey in his last senatorial election in PA, so no doubt if he even made it to the general he would get creamed.

HERMAN CAIN: Running as the "REAL" black man in the race. The former pizza magnate has absolutely no clue about foreign policy or the constitution. NO chance whatsoever!!!!

GARY JOHNSON: The former New Mexico guv promises to legalize marijuana, an idea I agree with which means he doesn't have a chance.

RON PAUL: Oh come on, he's retiring from congress, so I gues one last presidential run is his way of going out in a blaze of glory. No further analysis is required.

JON HUNTSMAN: The former Utah guv is viewed as the most moderate of all the GOP candidates, in spite of saying he would have voted for the Ryan budget. Obama's former ambassador to China said he "respects" the president, which won't play well with tea baggers. Has supported gay civil unions in the past which means he won't get the evangelical vote. If that's not enough Jonathan Alter recenlty said Huntsman is "polling in the asterisks." The least offensive of all the GOP candidates, might have a chance in the general if anybody knew who he was

All in all President Obama should not have a problem with any of these people, he shouldn't even have a problem if Rick Perry or Sarah Palin jumped in. He should win re-election, but in my opinion needs to be more like LBJ and less like Jimmy Carter.

Anthony Weiner

Ok...I have been on the fence with this one, but leaning a certain way. Now I can come right out and say it...Anthony Weiner should NOT resign from office!!!!!! I also want to scold Democrats who call for his resignation, we all know why they do it....to score cheap political points. But come on, Republicans gave David "DC Madam" Vitter a rousing ovation when he returned to the Senate. And, Oh Yeah...HE ACTUALLY BROKE THE LAW!!!!!! Aside from cheating on his wife, which Anthony Weiner did not do either. Now let me make this clear...I do NOT defend what Anthony Weiner did, I think it is indefensible and creepy. But he did not commit adultery, he did not break the law. The worst thing he did was lie about the situation in the first place. The main person that is owed an explanation STILL is Anthony Weiner's lovely wife. For crying out loud Marist did a poll and found out that 56% of the people in Anthony Weiner's district don't want him to resign. So everybody and do mean EVERYBODY, needs to stop with the hypocrisy and mock moral outrage. We have better things to worry about these days like jobs,  the debt ceiling, and awful GOP governors usurping people's rights. Shame on the Democrats who want Weiner to resign...especially Sherrod Brown of Ohio, and Pat Leahy of Vermont....I expect more out of you guys than cheap political grandstanding. Now let's knock it off people...SERIOUSLY!!!!!!

Republicans...callous or clueless???

One thing I have often wondered, do republicans really hate the middle class or do they honestly think that their policies do NOT hurt them? Do they really still believe trickle down economics works, eventhough it never has? I only say this because you always hear republicans bitching about Democrats raising taxes. Even when President Obama said that individuals who made $250,000 or less would get a tax cut. Even now that taxes are lower now than in the Reagan era, according to the CBO. Why do they always seem to want to balance budgets on the backs of the working people in this country? Giving big corporations tax breaks while cutting programs like Head Start, Pell Grants...not to mention what they want to do to Social Security and Medicare. Do republicans really hate the middle class? Or are they just clueless to what working people have to go through just to survive sometimes? Why do they insist they are for job creation, yet the current republican congress has yet to introduce a jobs bill? I guess I hope that they are just clueless, because then there is some hope that maybe, someday we can convince them that what they are doing is wrong and it hurts alot of people. It makes me sad to think that people elected to serve the people truly hate a majority of the people they serve. But when they insist that Democrats are wanting to raise taxes on the rich, they treat it like Democrats want to raise taxes on everyone. Please I would just like to know....

Gay Marriage.

In advance alot of my opinions on the issue of gay marriage were already voiced by Keith Olbermann in his brilliant "Special Comment" he did a while back, but here goes anyway. Why should it matter to straight people if gay people want the same right to marry???? They think it somehow de-values their marriage if gay people have the right to get married? I really don't undersatnd this one at all, gay americans want the same thing as us straight americans do, the cahnce to be with someone they love till death do them part. Self righteous right wing social conservatives want to say that marriage should ONLY be between a man and a woman, and a same sex marriage is an offense to god or something. But look at the divorce rate, and granted I don't have any data at the moment, but from my own experience people get married and divorced at the drop of a hat. Gay people want the right to get married to show the world that they love this one person and want to be with them for the rest of their lives, risking scorn and public ridicule. Now THAT sounds like real committment to me...how can THAT be an abomination to god???
